Frequently Asked Questions

  • How early should I book?

    Typically, most clients book 1-6 months in advance but it all depends on availability. Some clients have booked with as little as a few days in advance. Just keep in mind that weekends during spring, summer, and fall are usually the first dates to go.
  • How much space is needed for the photo booth?

    1) Open Air Setup "Red Carpet Style" - Although this setup is more flexible because it's not limited in height, we recommend space needed of 5-8 ft in width and 6-10 ft in length. Depending on the venue, we can also adjust the backdrop to be as small as 4 feet wide by 6 feet in height.
    2) Enclosed Setup "The Mashbooth" - The exact dimensions of the booth is 5 ft in length, 5 ft in depth, 8ft adjustable height. Including the housing unit for the printer & the camera, the space needed is 6.4 ft in length by 5 ft in depth but we also recommend a little extra space for an extra props table.
  • Does you package come with both "black & white" and "color"?

    Yes. Our booths come with an interactive Live Viewing Touch-Screen monitor that enables each guest to select between "Black and White" Photos or "Color" photos upon entering the booth.
  • My current wedding photographer/DJ is also offering a photo booth. Why should I rent a photo booth from Mashbooths instead?

    Although most of them have good intentions, many photographers and DJs are jumping into the photo booth business because they see it as an easy way to make extra cash. Unfortunately, because so many people have jumped on to the photo booth bandwagon, the quality of photo booths from vendor to vendor varies dramatically. At Mashbooths, you are guaranteed to have the best quality photo booth experience possible from real photographers who truly care about picture quality. Providing large events with photo booths is what we do best!
  • What props do you supply?

    It all depends on what package you choose. Here is a brief summary
    MashIntro package - Comes with basic props chest but also can be customized based on theme.
    MashPrime package - Includes a props chest that has the most common and most popular props used (mustaches, fake lips, colorful glasses and hats).
    MashFormal Package - Includes the standard chest of props but can also be customized, by special request, to just about any type of props you can imagine based on what is available. Unfortunately, we cannot provide live animals at this time ;)
  • What cities or towns are you available in?

    We are currently available in all of the metropolitan New York City area including all 5 boroughs, Westchester County, Northern New Jersey, and Long Island. We are also currently in the process of opening up offices on the west coast.
  • What type of power supply do you require?

    We just need a normal power outlet with the normal wattage of 110W.

  • Are you insured?

    Yes, we are fully insured and upon request can supply proof to you or the venue.

  • What type of file is needed for Step & Repeat custom backdrops?

    for the best image quality we will need the Logo to be at least 72 DPI in resolution. We prefer a PDF file format but we also accept PNG, EPS, PSD. JPEGS are also possible but can sometimes be slightly blurred.
